About Us
Maria Mikhail is the owner and founder of A Dog's Day, LLC - a pet care
business offering dog walking, playtime, vacation care and more!
Our mission is to help owners provide a proper balance of exercise, training,
love and overall wellness for their pets when they can be there, as well as
when they cannot.
Who We Are
A Dog's Day, LLC was founded because after interning and working at the Best
of Boston's "the pawsitive dog" in Boston www.thepawsitivedog.com,
Massachusetts for over two years, Maria decided to move back to her home
state of Connecticut and be closer to her family and friends.
Not wanting to give up working with dogs, she decided to use the skills she had
learned at the training facility to open a dog care business. She wanted it to be
one that would offer people the opportunity to be guilt free and feel
comfortable when they are not able to be with their dogs as much as they
would like, or if they travel, an emergency comes up, etc.
Being a dog owner herself, she had already gone through the same process of
looking for a dog walker/pet sitter and interviewed several people until she
found the right one. It's not an easy task to find someone who can give your
beloved pets one on one attention, reinforces the training and household rules
you may have and just as importantly HAS EXPERIENCE WITH DOGS!
A certified Pet First Aid instructor with the Red Cross, Maria continues to train
her own two dogs, Presley and Vyla, in her spare time and just added two new
dogs to her pack, Kila and Jake.

Gabbie
Gabbie has been a member of the team at A Dog's Day, LLC for several months
and is a pet sitter/dog walker. She is currently working towards a
pre-veterinarian degree and also works at an animal hospital part time.
Gabbie is actively involved with various shelter/rescue animals and has been
for the past 3 years. In fact, her two dogs, Sarge and Ella (shown below) were
both rescue dogs.
As her broad range of experience indicates, Gabbie loves working with all types
of animals. She has a wonderful gift of being able to connect with them and
make them feel comfortable in trusting her.
Gabbie has been a member of the team at A Dog's Day, LLC for several months

Melissa and Hilary
Melissa and Hilary, sisters, both joined the team at A Dog's Day, LLC as pet
sitters/dog walkers at the same time.
Melissa, a full time elementary school teacher, has gained hands on experience
pet sitting for friends and relatives over the years.
Hilary, who works with special needs children full time, has similar experience.
More recently they have both learned techniques for administering various
medications while helping care for their parents dog Barney who they
rescued/adopted. This knowledge comes in very handy while caring for special
needs pets.
Hilary and Melissa are caring, responsible pet lovers whose gentle nature is
easily picked up on - both by humans and pets. I am lucky to have them on the
team!
